A couple of weeks ago, my girl Nathalie picked me up and we drove down to Brussels to check out the new beauty products Guerlain has added to their cosmetics line for fall/winter 2016. We took part in a really fun makeup workshop (slumber party vibes aplenty when you're in a room with 10 beautybloggers doing their makeup), and were given a range of products to take home for a proper review. Read on for a closer look at the new foundation brush, Lingerie de peau foundation, multi-perfecting concealer, two new palettes 5 couleurs, the cils d'enfer maxi lash mascara, the l'art du trait precision felt eyeliner and the new Kiss Kiss lipstick shade review.
I have been sort of "over" contouring for a while now (too much effort), but there's one product I discovered about two months ago that made me revisit the technique. Let me introduce you to a new favourite product, the BE Creative Perfect & Reflect contour kit.
Let me introduce you to my current favourite eyeliner: the Maybelline Master Precise Curvy. I know, it's kind of a spoiler to already tell you that I love a product before even starting my review, but it also signals that this product is worth your while. Let's get started.
Time for another round in my eternal search for skincare that evens out my complexion. As you may know by now, my skin is pretty even and I hardly ever get blemishes worth mentioning. However, my skin has some discoloration issues: hormonal hyperpigmentation, and loads of redness in my cheeks. Yeay, rosacea! I go through periods of switching up my skincare and I always cross my fingers for finding that magical product that makes all my issues go away, but alas, I have to be satisfied with reducing my issues rather than eradicating them.
For the past two months, I've been using products by Delbôve, a Belgian skincare brand that relies on science as well as a sensuous feeling of pampering yourself. The science part is its emphasis on restoring the homeostasis of the epidermis (top layer of the skin), meaning Delbôve's products bring back your skin's natural balanced barrier that enables it to fend off infection and remain hydrated. The sensuous part is in the natural ingredients and their calming fragrance as well as in the massage that is a central part of the treatment, like giving yourself a facial.
I'm a bit late to the party, but MAC debuted the limited edition Soft Serve eyeshadow line back in June, and I love the formula so much I figured I might as well review it since the product is still available online (and possibly in stores). Soft serve is, coincidentally, my favourite type of ice cream, and this cream/powder shadow formula is also my favourite eyemakeup to wear when I want to keep things simple but still have some fun with my makeup. I received the product in Bounce Around - let's dig into that review!
The contour craze is far from over, and even though I'm not as much into the super done up look as I used to be, I still regularly get questions from people who want to try contouring out for themselves. It always takes a while until a trend trickles down to the masses, and now that drugstore favourite Maybelline has brought out this master contour V stick, it's safe to say that contouring has become 100% mainstream. This cream contour stick has a dark contour side and a lighter highlighting side, retails at about €10, and is supposed to make contouring fool-proof. Let's find out how it performs.
If you're a scifi lover and a makeup fiend like I am, you have probably been counting the days until the MAC x Star Trek collection hits the shelves. Well my friend, I'm here to tell you that that glorious day has finally arrived. It's safe to say that everything looks amazing at first sight. But does the MAC x Star Trek collection live up to its hype (and 50 year legacy)? Let's find out! I received three products: the Trip the Light Fantastic powder in the shade Luna Luster, a liquid eyeliner in the silver Nocturnal rendition, and the Kling it On lipstick.
