A bajillion pictures today, but Natasja was on a roll and I just really love today's outfit! I've always been a fan of those retro 70s peasant-style dresses and the whole mormon sisterwife look, so this ruffled blouse was a no-brainer for me. Super on trend for spring 2017, an airy poly fabric that doesn't wrinkle (great for work), and such a gorgeous light cornflower blue shade! Because I'm partial to that retro/modest type of vibe, I had to make sure to style this blouse with something modern and sleek so that the look wouldn't become too dowdy. The futuristic silver holographic skirt I picked up in the & Other Stories sales was a perfect match: the mix of retro and modern feels very groovy 60s, which is totally up my alley.
The fresh, pastel shades and the girly ruffles also feel like spring is just around the corner, and I'm so ready for it! It just feels like all kinds of exciting things are ahead of me this year (finishing my PhD, some travel, finding a new job), and spring rolling in will bring me one step closer to this new stage in my life. A new season, and new beginnings. Cheers to that!
