I mentioned that I had gotten highlights in my Milani Mattalics review (and you got a sneak peek as well), but this is the official debut of my new, lighter 'do, featuring some clear pictures of the end result! It had been years since I had last bleached my hair after an extended period of experimenting with ombre and dip dye, but after seeing all these gorgeous beachbabes at the French Riviera rocking sunkissed locks, I was ready to try something new myself.

Obviously I spent days scouring pinterest to narrow down what end result I wanted, and I finally settled on this subtle highlighted look on Shay Mitchell. I asked around for hairdresser recommendations and ended up going to Costa Del Kapsalon. I love how it turned out so natural, it doesn't look dyed because Stijn applied the tiniest, finest highlights throughout my hair, leaving my roots natural and blending the lighter hair with my darkest brown locks. I might go even blonder next time, something along these lines. I think every dark haired girl dreams about being (semi) blond at least once in her life, right?

It's quite fascinating how even a subtle change in colour changes your look. I feel like I can keep my makeup more natural because I don't have that high contrast fair skin - almost black hair thing going on anymore, and my entire look is softer. I'm still adapting, but I like it! Change is healthy.

The dress is one of those magical vintage finds that make all the thrifting efforts worth it. It's vintage Laura Ashley and 100% cotton, it fits me like a glove, it has adorable scalloped edges and it was just €19. Yes!

Let me know what you think of the new haircolour!
